Rooney Legacy Continues: Man United Offers Wayne Rooney's Son, Kai, New £50,000 Deal As Academy Star Rises
Manchester United have reportedly offered a new deal to Kai Rooney, the son of club legend Wayne Rooney, as the teenager continues to impress within the club’s academy setup.
The 16-year-old forward has spent several years developing at United and is understood to be highly rated by the club’s youth coaches due to his steady progress and attacking potential.
According to reports, Kai is expected to be offered a scholarship either during the summer or ahead of the new season. The proposed deal could be worth £50,000 per year, including an annual signing-on bonus.
Kai is said to be part of a “very strong” group of 14 young players currently being considered for new agreements. The list also includes Jacey Carrick, son of former United midfielder and interim manager Michael Carrick.
While discussions are ongoing, it is believed the Rooney family have yet to formally accept the offer. If finalized, the scholarship would place Kai on a pathway that could eventually lead to a professional contract at Old Trafford.
A left-footed forward, Kai Rooney will be hoping to carve out his own identity at Manchester United while following in the footsteps of his famous father.
